It's out. Finally. Just sucks, though, because BDCraft has not come up with their latest texture pack. Sad I hate default. Srrsly.

Use the new launcher, and you can switch between all versions (Including snapshots) between 1.5.1 and 1.6.1.

Also texture packs should be ready soon, I think there's a converter for the new Resource Pack system or whatever it's called.

Regardless, the new launcher will let you select the version our server is running. I've been using the developer release for a while, and it's great.

G1, I did a single player game on 1.6 and found two nice herds of horses right near spawn. I heard they are way more common in/near plains. Smile

And for some reason...when I updated to the new launcher, I cannot run 1.5.2 as cleanly as I was prior to the update. Very choppy and slow for me. And I know it isn't my connection. We tried fixing optifine, but that didn't help. I'm wondering if it's because of the resource vs texture thing? It's making this very unenjoyable. Sad

@Nuch: No, horses will be able to spawn in plains biomes, mob spawning isn't affected by map gen, only terrain. Plus the server only started in 1.5.1 meaning most of the map is yet to be explored.

@Miko & G1: Horses are not rare in the slightest, on my single player world there were like 80 herds in plains biomes.

That's what I figured. As long as you're in plains, you can find horses. It's donkeys that are suppose to rare.

Guys we are now in 1.6, and there is indeed a TP converter google "TextureEnder" get it and open it with Winrar or 7Zip, then navigate to your TP and it will make it a 1.6 RP

Don't open it with 7zip or WinRar. Just right click and tell the PC to run it with java se binary. Then browse to your texture pack, convert it, copy the converted pack to the resource packs folder in your %appdata%roaming/minecraft directory and you're golden.

Just note that the highest pack we have tested with so far is a 64-bit pack.

I tested with 128 and 256, and it didn't covert much of anything. Only a very very very slight few things converted. Like, pictures and signs. The rest was still default.

Highest res Texture Ender will work with, currently, is 64.

Well converting sphax was infuriating but it's done. Just wish they'd hurry up with an updated tp though. Curious as to how the sphax horse armor will look.
