| We're going to be doing a Halcyon relaunch. We're sticking with our current theme of PVE, of course. However, we're revamping Halcyon's spawn and working on the PVP arena to ensure that people can have all the options they want. If you have ANY ideas on how to update our spawn, what features that should be there, etc... please reply below or PM me. Thank you guys! Hoping to up our patronage. Miko | |

| To be brutally honest, I never liked the information wall. It was required in the beginning, but the spawn in isn't even centered. I feel that, while there is a need for information, it should be streamlined.
I also don't like the idea of trapping a person in a building with no windows making them read in detail each rule, so that each room is a rule. It shouldn't be a forced thing but it should be a voluntary thing (that if you don't voluntarily choose, you could be banned... :3 )
Why not have a flashy miko building with a "Step in here to read the server rules" sign boldly posted on either side of the enterance. Then on the path leading out of the warp-in, there is a big arrow pointing right. Like on a banner. The player has the freedom to be free and outside in the glory of halcyon, and not a hamster in a cage that we might think about letting you out of. If anyone trespasses, they get the hammer of justice. They had access to the information, and it's not hard to read an arrow.
I just think the current implementation of the rules isn't done well. It's minecraft. Welcome to the New Server! Before we begin, do some math. Wouldn't it be better to be all, like, welcome to the new server! Look around! Wow! neat! Wander, and then "Oh hey... read these rules" as soon as you step outside. Just walkin my brain through what a new person would think... | |

| Oh man, that Energy Drink is kickin' in.
I personally never thought that vote-scumming is a bad thing. There is a thing known as votifier... It's an in-game thingamajig that reports when a user has voted. This is not only a great way to up our vote counts, but it gives retention, because the people voting now have something to gain by voting. It's like building a structure. You're now invested into the building of the structure, and it's not something that can be faked or taken away from them.
Thusly the reward system should reflect that, IF votifier is enabled. If it's not enabled, then it's still a good idea to have reward structures.
First idea is for a smelter room. It's just a simple room with like 20 furnaces in it. When have you ever needed 20 furnaces at once, and not been me? Not often, right? A public furnace, may spew some whiney baby complaints, but it might be nice to have that as a feature. If Votifier is enabled, then this would be like, Vote rank 1: if they vote for halcyon at least once, they get access to the mass furnace array.
Thusly, the next ideas will simply be structures that people will need, that they want to keep private, but because it's at spawn, they have that "eww, public toilet" feel. It is good to have these things available early on, as it will help get people going. There needs to be a very very finely-tuned balance, because this can make the game too easy. Something like a mass smelter is a good idea, because getting a furnace is easy, 8 cobblestone. Getting 20 furnaces is also easy... that's like... 160 cobble? math? Anydangway, no one needs 20 furnaces, unless your me, so that one time, you need a bunch of glass for a project, and you don't have the furnaces, it's a hassle-less thing to have that available.
What about an enchanting station? Now that enchanting costs Lapis, it could be a great idea. The thing is the bookshelves. If you give access to level 30 enchantments, it could make the game too easy. Getting an enchantment table isn't hard. It's the bookshelves which makes the journey worth while. And when you finally have that last shelf in place, you have a sense of completion, and happiness... free enchanting station will take that away. That's why I vote no on enchanting stations.
Automatic potion brewers? This is just like the furnaces. Now that brewing requires blaze powder, it's unlikely that you would have blaze powder, and netherwarts and not have a brewing stand. Some sort of public brewery would be a nice idea. The only potions that would be given away would be beacon effect potions that have no other use. This would be speed and jump boost. Using protected blocks and whatnot, you can have a free jump or free speed potion. The way it works is by /setblock. You would /setblock a brewing stand with bottles in it. There would be a hopper on top where you can toss in your netherwart. You cannot right-click any of this. in 1.9, a sound was added so that it would gurgle when the brewing stand was done. Next, you setblock a dispenser with whatever potion you have selected in it, and have it spit it out to you.
It's done for theatrics, but you can basically turn netherwart into glass bottles with potion in it. You would need a T-Flip flop with 2 buttons. One which says "Latte" and the other "Mocha" :3 Afterwards, you use setblock to replace and reset everything, thus spending the netherwart.
It's the requiring netherwart which is the deciding factor in weather or not you get a free drink at Ruby's milk bar.
An automatically refilling cauldron at a crafting area. Crafting tables are always in short supply. I always have one every 15 blocks or so in my base. Why not have a public area with a crafting table for use, but also a cauldron, that when you use it up, it refills. How? Well cauldrons give comparator outputs. So having a comparator lead into a block with a redstone torch on it, and the torch is staring at a command block that says /setblock Cauldron with water in it, when the cauldron empties, the comparator turns off, the torch beams on, and the cauldron magically refills. You can also play.sound.brewing as well to get the brewing stand gurgle if you want to be fancy.
And of course, I think theres a hard lack of gardens surrounding the outside of spawn. But hey- that's a me thing. I've always like the zhen garden look.
For newer players, they will like the idea of a Random Teleport. This is most easily done with the 1.7 command /spreadplayers. You have a little platform, with a pressure plate and a command block. Anyone on the platform gets the "spread players" command which is a PVP mapmaker's tool to give players random starting positions. Once they're out there in the wild, they can start. Remember: our clientele is PVE'ers. They will come to Halcyon because they would have played on other servers with PVP enabled, and not liked that. They will have the same brain disease that I did in that they just want to be away from people who trample crops and kill cows. An RTP feature will be a good thing for them.
And here comes the napium kicking in.
