Hosting Other Games

How would you guys feel if I hosted games other than Minecraft?

You'd still host minecraft correct? Lol.

I thought about hosting Space Engineers under Halcyon's name, all that requires is an internet connection since how it works doesn't require the pc to be good at all or even be able to play the game, just relies solely on internet connection lol.

I will continue to host Minecraft. I thought about attempting to build a wow server.

I don't mind if other games are hosted under the Halcyon branding, but we'll probably need to rebrand our forums Halcyon Gaming or something.

That's an easy feat to do tbh, It wouldn't be hard for me to re-organize the forum to that. I fully support it, it gains us audience who would support us, plus it makes it so we don't have to limit our youtube to minecraft either.

Before we rebrand, I want to test some clients at home and see if I can get them to work.

At the moment, I've been handed a big project at work, and will need to work on more hosting on the back burner.

I think if you have the ambition to undertake such a project, then you should most definetly do this thing. This is not my opinion, but rather the ramblings of a man who follows Microsoft and Minecraft news and development very carefully.

You should host other games, but only if you believe you could happily undertake such a thing. I wonder what games would appeal to you however?

Well, looking around the internet, I found a way to host a WOW server. On my next available day when I have nothing else to do but pay attention to myself (most likely this Saturday) I'll see if I can get a working solution running on my LOCAL network. If I can, that will satisfy the needs of my husband and myself and we won't have to pay Blizzard for content or a subscription.

As far as games other than that, it would depend on what the game is, what kind of hardware specs it requires, and whether I have the hardware to support it. This thread is simply put: a fact-finding mission. If there's something you'd like to see, let me know about it.

Personally I'd like to see an AotBT server. . . lmao. But that's asking too much, money and computer intensive I think. Plus that'd just be more minecraft which would be pointless since we already have minecraft

The main problem I'm having with trying to host a private wow server is it goes against the wow Eula and tos to host a private server. We will see.
